Knit something gentle and full of charm with this Eeyore Blanket Knitting Pattern, featuring the much-loved donkey from Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. Inspired by the thoughtful and endearing Eeyore, this design captures his unmistakable silhouette with his long ears, soft expression, tufted mane, and signature bow-tied tail. Small floating hearts above his head add a sweet touch, creating a blanket that feels warm, comforting, and full of character.
Each pattern is created manually, without the use of AI (artificial intelligence), ensuring a natural design process, thoughtful construction, and careful attention to every detail.
This knitting project is worked entirely with solid color, one-color yarn, allowing the image to emerge through texture rather than color changes. The blanket features a garter stitch border and a smooth stockinette background, while the Eeyore motif is formed using a combination of knit and purl stitches to create a striking raised design without colorwork, intarsia, or cables.
The contrast between knit and purl textures highlights Eeyore’s distinctive features, including his drooping ears, expressive face, gentle posture, and characteristic tail. Because the entire blanket is knitted in a single solid shade, the textured motif stands out with elegant simplicity, creating a timeless design that showcases the beauty of stitch definition and textured knitting. The result is a charming blanket that celebrates one of the most beloved residents of the Hundred Acre Wood while remaining soothing, sophisticated, and easy to coordinate with any room décor.
Clear row-by-row instructions guide you through every step, making it easy to create a cozy baby blanket, nursery accessory, decorative throw, wall hanging, or thoughtful handmade gift.
This pattern offers a relaxing and rewarding knitting experience, with the textured motif gradually appearing as you work. Stitch markers can be helpful for keeping the design aligned and maintaining the shape of the character throughout the project.

DK (8 ply) or worsted weight (8 ply) with 3.75 mm to 4 mm (US 5 to 7) needles (sample shown):
100 × 120 cm (40″ × 47″), approx. 800 to 850 g

Larger size suitable for older children, works well as a warm blanket for bed, lounging, or as a decorative throw.
MATERIALS NEEDED
I used DK weight (8 ply) yarn — 800 g of YarnArt Creative, 100% cotton, 50 g ≈ 85 m / 1.8 oz ≈ 93 yds
Knitting needles: 3.75 mm (US 5)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
If you want to match the sample size, use DK yarn with a similar gauge and texture.
However, you’re free to use any yarn you like! This project is highly adaptable — just choose suitable needles for your yarn and enjoy the process.
GAUGE
22 stitches × 32 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4″ × 4″) in sport 5-ply yarn
18 stitches × 26 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4″ × 4″) in DK or worsted 8-ply
16 stitches × 23 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4″ × 4″) in aran 10-ply yarn
WORK SEQUENCE
The project begins with a garter stitch border, followed by a central stockinette section where the motif is created by working reverse stockinette stitches according to the written instructions.
Follow the instructions line by line — each row will tell you exactly which stitches to knit and which to purl. This format is especially helpful for beginners and for those who enjoy marking their progress as they go.
